A response to feminism

In a sinless world woman would follow man and man would love his wife. We all know that things are not always as they were planned (Look closely at any book of the bible.) Feminism is a response to the unlove of many men towards their wives. While their lamentation is justified, their conclusions are often debilitating.

God's justice on the other hand is in new restorative promises. We must keep that in mind when dealing with questions of feminism. The response to evil in much Old Testament theology (but not all) has traditionally been one of vengence, retribution, and vindicative justice. The Gospel reminds us of our calling unto righteous love towards one another, our falleness and disregard for the welfare of others, and then ends with the not yet lost promise of fruitfullness. It calls a stone a stone and an apple an apple, not tip-toeing around in philisophical posturing but calls all people to a proper acount of their irresponsibility.

The feminist saying is: Women, don't obey your husbands
When it should be: Men, love your wives

The Mind is the Battleground

T.D. Jakes - The mind is the battleground

The bible says it is with the mind where we serve the Lord.
It is with the mind that we serve the Lord.
The mind is the battleground
There are more people in this room having trouble in their mind than there are people having trouble with their finances.
The struggle is in your mind.
This is why we have people who go to bed tired and wake up tired.
Slept 8 hours, and you wake up still tired
The reason that you woke up tired is that you got sleep but you didn't get rest
Your mind has been in turmoil all night long
You've been wrestlin in your sleep
Have you ever woke up and your bed was wet?
The bed is all torqued just like you were in a fight
Because your mind has not rested
Your body went to sleep but your mind is still caught up in a warfare
Your mind is the battleground
Touch somebody and tell them 'the enemies after your mind'
Out to worry you to death,
Out to stress you to death,
Out to break you down,
Out to make you quit,
Out to make you think that you can't get up
Out to make you give up on your dream
The warfare is in your mind
It's not in your checkbook
It's not in your savings account
It's not on your job
The fight that you got to fight is in your mind
And if you whip it in your head,
You can whip it in your check book
You can whip it on your job
You can whip it out on your children
But you gotta CRYYY it out of your head

To Serve or Dominate?

Halleluyah, Gordon Wiebe has written a short essay on class identity in incarnational communities. You can find it here. It is confirmation of my own situation as a service worker. Please take the time to read.

Logos

The Lord's greatest joy, His highest ambition, His first priority is to see the people of His creation realize a dream. A dream that goes beyond first greed and selfishness, then despair and lonliness, then irreality and impossibilty. The prophet's task is to speak about God's will in our lives. A true prophet does not conform to the people, but is an alternative to their perceived reality. In all evangelistic endevours, abhore the low and profane and express the greatest ideals. Add to that a healthy dose of observation and there you will find a revolution.

A Priori

On a recent post from Jonathan Evans, he said "We do not let the incidentals of life lead us astray." This is unspeakable sanity. God was, is, and will be the same for all time.

blessed be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name
